This menu’s theme is orientated around the authentic tastes of Sichuan, China.
Authentic Chinese food, and most definitely authentic regional Chinese food is tremendously under appreciated in Western societies. Ever since I embarked to learn the world of authentic Chinese food, and specifically Sichuanese food, I have been rewarded time and time again by recipes baffling to the sight and taste alike. There is a sense of awe, mysteriousness, and certainly wonder in making foods that are completely foreign, but yet experimenting and being intimate with the cooking styles of that mystery is what brings me great pleasure and happiness.
I hope through this set menu experience you feel tastes and sensations that you might have not experienced before. I hope you come in with an open mind and similarly leave feeling like you touched a world you might have not before.
All the while, I hope you enjoy the Jeffrey’s experience I have worked hard to cater where you enjoy the cozy atmosphere with good laughs with new people to good food and good craftsmanship.

Our Team
The meal we shared at Jeffrey’s lounge was phenomenal.
The menu was well thought out, with a gradual progression of temperature, starting with a kicker of carrot and radish pickles, followed by numerous other dishes. What stood out was the Long Bean Pork Rice, and the Sweet Water Noodles, both of which complemented each other well. My favourite item on the menu was perhaps the Long Bean Pork Rice, which was bursting with flavour, and left all of us wanting more. The meal ended perfectly with a warm dessert that was rather traditionally Chinese.
While few (if any) would be let down by the quality of dishes Jeffrey produced, I think there is more to this Lounge than the food. I will highly recommend coming alone, and giving yourself the chance to meet people. Do remember that it is an undergraduate who is preparing food for you (at a very affordable price) within his own apartment. This is perhaps one of those stories which I will look back on, and treasure how inconceivable this concept is, if it had not been done by Jeffrey.
Food was great, conversations were heartfelt, atmosphere was perfect, and the sound of passing traffic and cozy space did nothing to dampen the vibe of the space, if anything, it added to it. Check it out, have a good conversation, before the semester ends!

I loved everything I tried on the menu, but the stir-fried long beans and the noodles stood out the most. The long beans were incredibly flavorful, and the house-pickled vegetables added the perfect touch of acidity to balance the richness of the pork. The noodles were chewy with a subtle sweetness, and I especially loved the depth of flavor from the spice-infused soy sauce. The chrysanthemum tofu flower was also a standout — really unique, hearty, and comforting.
On top of all that, the atmosphere of Jeffrey’s Lounge made the whole experience even more special. The space has this intimate, vintage charm — moody lighting and an amazing jazz playlist. Even after we finished eating, none of us wanted to leave — we ended up staying for another hour, chatting with Jeffrey and each other over drinks. Jeffrey’s Lounge is such a unique experience — I’ll definitely be bringing more visitors here to share it with them.
